the day after Christmas

OK! I think I've got it now.

It's the day after Christmas and we're celebrating the fact that we got the best gift of all this year (see picture to the left) (picture is from Hawaii, November 2007).

not feeling so good

Aww, cutie pie. You have not been feeling that well this past week. On Saturday you had a real fever, your first, and your temperature rose to 103.4. You just wanted to be held close and sleep on my chest. You were whimpering and moaning and even though it broke my heart it was really cute. Abigail and Steven came to visit and couln’t BLieVE just how damn cute you were. Even when you were a sad, sick little puppy. I hope you start feeling better soon.

first foods

We’ve started feeding you “real” food and so far you have tried: apples, bananas, sweet potatoes and rice cereal

and I can’t say you seem to like any of it. You’re still making a funny and confused face, which is unusual, considering who’s kid you are. I thought by now you’d be planning what your next meal would be like I do when I eat lunch.

You remain, as always, incredibly cute throughout the eating process.

P.S. It's December 26 and today - in Florida - you finally decided you would like to start eating. You were loving squash today, I've never seen you eat like the way you did today! Good job, little buddy.

holiday spirit

We’ve got our Christmas tree up and spent all day Sunday trying to get a picture of you for this years Christmas card. The light in the afternoon is always nice in our apartment and Jon is such a good photographer (especially with his really good camera with the red line on the lens). We must’ve shot about 200 pics. Then we look through them, trying to edit out the bad ones, and just keep going “ohhhh, ohhh, he’s so cute, oh my gosh, look at that one.” We can’t even get rid of the really bad ones because they still make us smile even if you are crying or making sad face or one of your other many funny faces.

We have three stockings up (yours used to be Kitty’s – I just have to change the K to a J), and it smells like fresh pine in here. Jon played Christmas carols when we had our photoshoot (Jackson 5, Sufjan Stevens), the only thing missing was hot chocolate and marshmallows. It even snowed a little bit just for us.
