happy birthday, dada!!!! oh so belated :(

Jon

So so sorry. I've been meaning to do this for two weeks now. I feel terrible.

I know you know - what a wonderful birthday this year, with a wonderful new addition to our family. What better gift, right?

I love you.

gardener in training

Jackson had an intensive gardening lesson at Mimi's last week, where he learned how to use his shovel and little red wheelbarrow. He was also introduced to wiggle worms, much to his dismay.

Abigail, do you need an apprentice to help with your harvest?

scary

Jon took this crazy picture of Jackson at the Underhill Playground yesterday, looking through an Alice in Wonderland statue.

Unfortunately it makes me think of scary horror movie posters.......

I think I will have to delete this post soon because even looking at them scares me.

cousins

The day Cade was born, Nikki, Carole and Sammy drove down from Boston to help. Jackson had the time of his life with his cousin. Apparently they were screaming (so was I) and running around, and having a blast. Now Sammy wants to move to Brooklyn (which is what he calls our apartment).

Three boy cousins, within three years. Oh boy! Holidays are going to be fun.

it's the 23rd already?

Is it really? Wow. How did that happen.

I don't even know where to begin.

It's my first day home alone with both of them and we've survived until now, 2:01 pm. Jackson is napping in his crib, Baby Cade is grunting in his swing. Of course, we didn't leave the house this morning, but you know, maybe that will happen eventually. Like when Cade can walk down the stairs by himself. Or at least Jackson can walk down the stairs himself without crying "UP UP UP."

I don't know what was harder, coming home from the hospital and realizing there were two of them, or knowing the day was coming that Jon would have to go back to work after two wonderful weeks with him here.

So much to post about from the past three weeks....hopefully will be able to steal 5 minutes a day to get it together.......soon.

crazy

It's been a little chaotic here.

I had big plans of posting every day, documenting little Cade's first days.....but that hasn't been happening, obviously. I'm lucky I got a shower today.

Soon, we'll get into more of a routine and the days won't seem so crazy.

Thank you to everyone for their good wishes, help, support, meals, gifts and love. It means the world to me.

just waiting

We've got the bassinet set up in the bedroom, newborn diapers in the boys room, and I'm going to sterilize some pacifiers this afternoon.

Now we are just waiting. I am ready to have Baby. Jon is ready to hold his Baby.

Jackson? Well, we'll have to see if he's ready too.

{Bassinet here.}
