poetry in motion

Returning from Austin on Monday, we discovered that Jackson, with Mimi's help, had pretty much memorized a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson:

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.

Not bad for a almost-three year old!

Thank you Mimi and Nonno for taking care of Jackson while we were away! We're so lucky he has you!

I was wondering what shadow song he was murmuring on our walk to see the parrots on the day you returned from TX.
