firsts, Cade - swimming

Let the record show that Cade, at his last swim class, officially swam unassisted and with no flotation devices. And to think that one year ago Jon and I would be red in the face as he REFUSED to set foot in the water. Screamed. Cried. Shrieked. and Sobbed. We dreaded swim class. Couldn't take it!

This time - jumped in the deep end. Floated on his back. Swam from his teacher to the wall. All by himself. Good job, little buddy! We're really proud of you.

Jackson, in the exact same spot, 2012.

not so scared

I still find it surprising that Jackson is now able to jump in the deep end. I took him to swim class for the first time (Jon usually does) and was squealing with pride as I watched him in the pool. Not scared at all!

And to think I just heard Cade say to Jackson (as they went upstairs and I stayed downstairs), "I'll go first since you are always scared."

PS I like how this picture looks like he is waiting for Communion or something so serious.

Jackson in the deep end

Jackson at his last swimming class. Jon and I are pretty much amazed that he is doing this - this is the same kid that didn't even want to go in the pool last year, whining and crying, and now look at him!

You can tell he's afraid and he totally conquers it. I'm so proud of you, Jackson!
