black and white fire

While Cade was watching a cartoon, he repeatedly asked "What's the white stuff?"
After he asked 15 times, I looked up and explained that it was fire. He asked why it was white. 
I had to explain that it was in black and white. Cade had never seen anything in black and white and couldn't make sense of it. 
Kids these days.
