"we're standing on our heads for joy"

Our Christmas cards are on their way from the printer. Jon put up with my crazy ways once again, and designed a great card. Thanks, Jon.

Next year, we'll just do something simple like this card from the exhibition of American Christmas Cards, 1900-1960, at Bard's Graduate Center.

Previous cards: 2010, 2009 (just sent out a photo, I couldn't get my act together with a 6 mos. old and a 2 1/2 year old), 2008 (my fav), and 2007.

I'd love to be writing my thank you notes, for all of Baby Cade's wonderful Christening gifts, on these wonderful cards ~ from Rifle Design.

a letterpress machine? sign me up!

If I had this before, I would have done all their announcements and invites on it. I wonder if it really works!

christening invite - baby cade

I'm really pleased with the way Cade's baptism invites came out. I put a lightweight watercolor paper through our little printer at home - it got a little washed out, but I like it.

pansies

Great-Grammy sent a beautiful card to say Happy Anniversary.

Thank you, Grammy!

for Baby Cade

Our cousins Maria, Laura, Claire and Matthew made the most wonderful cards to welcome Baby Cade. Thank you! We love them all. They're going straight into Cade's scrapbook - which needs some serious work to keep up with Jackson's.

announcing......

Been poking around for baby announcement ideas.

Of course my favorites are all letterpress, but unfortunately those are out of our budget.

It's hard to find good ones with the photograph of the baby in the layout, but here are two possibilities:

I hope, though, that Jon and I will be able to design one like our Christmas card. Jon is so talented it would be silly not to! That is, if he has the time and patience for me and another 'project'.

The only problem is I can't find a reasonable online printer that has un-coated paper. That was the only thing I didn't like about our Christmas card. Any one have any sources?
