Yay ~ it's Friday and we're going to Vermont to visit Alec, Michelle, Jamilla and Naoki.

Just the other day, I was talking to Mimi about creating a terrarium. Then I get an email from Michael showing me his new amazing homemade terrariums. Then I see this book on Cookie's Nesting site. Then I remember that I wanted to make one last August. Jackson, I wish you were old enough for Michael and you to make one together. Someday?

PS. The author of the book, Tovah Martin, once wrote an article about Mimi and her garden for a local newspaper.

that Abigail!

Abigail was planning on coming to visit on Tuesday but couldn't when her dog ('pant-pant-pant' ~ that's Jackson saying 'dog' in baby sign language) got sick :(.

So what arrives in the mail this evening?! All the treats she was going to bring with her! Like these wonderful cookies, homemade, bright green pesto, and......drumroll please......a loaf of her homemade bread.

Jon is still at work. Sorry, Jon, but I couldn't wait for you.

I don't think it has anything to do with the new baby coming, but Jackson's been walking around all day saying 'baby' and rocking his arms back and forth in the baby sign language symbol for 'baby.'

The other day I gave you a vintage 'cocktail pick' to eat your pieces of apple. Now you use the spear for everything - - cheese, peas, toast, raisins, etc. Well, you weren't really into the peas, but I tried.

Dear Bebe,

Even though I don't get to see you as much as I would like, I still think you are the best bebe in the world. I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful birthday. In fact, I wrote this little poem for you (well, I dictated and Mama typed it out for me):

Another candle on your cake?
Well, that's no cause to pout.
Be glad that you have strength enough
To blow the damn thing out.

I wish I was there to celebrate your birthday with you! I'll just have to make Mama and Dada drive me to Massachusetts soon to see you again!
